Best Casual Bars In Baton Rouge

My idea of a casual bar is one where you can show up wearing pretty much anything you want. Shorts and t-shirts are commonplace around these establishments. But that doesn’t mean you can’t go there new boot goofin’ either. Feel free to dress up if you want, but just know that no one cares about your designer clothes. These spots have some good cocktails no doubt, but don’t feel like you can’t order a PBR the way God intended.

  • Radio Bar

Radio Bar is a Baton Rouge staple. It’s got a real moody vibe inside and an outdoor area with plenty of seating. The outdoor area is dog friendly which is tight and has an area to play darts as well! It’s a great bar to spend a night chatting and drinking while keeping things low-key. The crowd is usually 25-35 but anyone can go there and have a solid night.

  • The Lost Cove

I think The Lost Cove is a hidden gem in Baton Rouge. The vibe is fun and on the dive-y side of things. A little dark and a lot of exposed wood, the way bars are supposed to be right? They have an incredible selection of whiskey, bourbon and scotch, and I’m big on that. They also have a solid food menu that is definitely worth trying out. The Lost Cove is one of the go-to bars for people that work in the Service industry, and the reason is simple; it’s a great bar.. Go check it out and thank me later.

  • Pelican To Mars

One of the newer bars on the scene in Baton Rouge, Pelican To Mars, has quickly made its way to the top of my friends and I’s favorite spots to hang out. The majority of the seating is outside but covered so the weather has less of an effect. The patio is turfed and has some comfortable beach style chairs that gives Pelican To Mars an island-y feel. They often have live music, as well as some of the best food trucks and pop-up kitchens in the city. Next time you’re looking for a casual bar to try out in Baton Rouge, Give Pelican To Mars a shot.
