Best Parks In Baton Rouge

The best parks in Baton Rouge offer three things in my opinion; a great playground, lots of room for kids to run around and be kids, and peace of mind that if you take your eyes off of them for two seconds, nothing bad will happen to them! Below are the three best parks in the Baton Rouge area that are big, well-maintained, and safe!

  • Highland Road Community Park

Highland Road Community Park in Baton Rouge is a great spot for kids. There's a well-kept playground that's always a hit, and the splash pad is perfect for cooling off in the summer. I like to bring the family for picnics under the shaded pavilions and unleash the kids to wreak havoc in the green spaces. The walking trails offer a bit of adventure, and there are plenty of youth sports programs to keep them active. It's a solid choice for a fun, safe day out with the family.

  • North Sherwood Forrest Community Park

North Sherwood Forest Community Park in Baton Rouge is a great spot for a family day. The pond is perfect for letting the kids fish in-town, and the indoor playground is a big hit, especially when it's too hot or rainy outside. There is plenty of shade and plenty of space for the kids to run around. It's a dependable place for a fun and safe family outing.

  • City-Brooks Community Park

City-Brooks Community Park in Baton Rouge is another go-to for families with kids. This spacious park features multiple playgrounds designed for different age groups, so toddlers and older kids have a safe and fun place to play. The park also has a splash pad, and plenty of open spaces where kids can run around and explore. With significant shade from the oak trees it’s a great spot to let the kids play when it’s a hot outside. The walking trails offer a great way to enjoy the beauty of the park and tire your kid’s out before heading home!
