Best Locals Only Bars In Baton Rouge
Don’t let the name of this category fool you; all are welcome at any of these bars! After all, this is the South; we’ve never met a stranger. The point is that these bars are no frills, not worried about how many Instagram followers they have, and likely have a lot of neighborhood regulars that just order “The Usual.” The Locals Only spots are some of the quiet heroes of Baton Rouge’s bar scene. Not flashy, but an absolute vibe in their own way. Here are the best Locals Only bars in Baton Rouge.

Bald Eagle Pub
Possibly one of my favorite bars anywhere in the world, Bald Eagle Pub feels like everything that a bar is supposed to be. Tucked off the street down a half staircase, this bar would be easy to miss if you weren’t looking for it. They’ve got a quintessential bar with the staples you’d expect, and high-top seating throughout their modestly sized room. A pool room connected to the main room is the cherry on top. Perfect for a beer after work or a laid back night with friends. Check out Bald Eagle Pub next time you’re in Downtown Baton Rouge

Old New Orleans Bar
Old New Orleans Bar just feels right. An unappealing exterior gives way to a Hollywood perfect dive bar complete with bartenders that are welcoming and helpful, but at the same time seem unbothered by much. Going there feels like how drinking at bars use to be, before going out was some kind of hoopla and back when it was just what you did to drink a beer. They have a few pool tables to occupy your time if just sitting and being cool isn’t your thing. Definitely worth visiting if you haven’t. It could just turn into your new favorite bar in Baton Rouge.

Duvic's
Duvic’s likely needs no introduction to Baton Rouge local’s, it’s more than earned it’s spot on this list. Established in the Perkin’s Overpass area before it became one of the most popular areas in Baton Rouge. Duvic’s is a quintessential bar of the people. Anytime I go to Duvic’s I almost always run into someone from highschool or college, cause it’s just that type of place. Local’s love it and visitors are welcome! Stop by for a martini or a Coor’s Light. Honestly no one cares what you drink, just stop by.
