Things To Do With Kids When It Rains
Everyone knows that rainy days and kids make for a lot of pent-up energy that likely ends in chaos at some point throughout the day. Getting out of the house for even an hour or so can help kids use their brain and burn some energy! But where can you go when it’s raining? Here’s where my wife and I take the kids when it’s raining in Baton Rouge.

Knock Knock Children's Museum
Knock Knock Children's Museum in Baton Rouge is a fantastic place to take the kids for a fun and educational day indoors. This interactive museum has loads of hands-on exhibits that get kids thinking and playing at the same time. My kids love the storytelling tree and the realistic grocery store, where they can shop like mom and dad! There are also lots of educational programs and workshops that keep them engaged and learning new things. When it’s raining outside, or just too hot, it’s easy to spend the whole day there. It's definitely one of our favorite spots for a family outing in Baton Rouge.

North Sherwood Forrest Community Park
North Sherwood Forest Community Park has already made my Best In Baton Rouge list a couple of times. That’s not cause I’ve run out of options, that’s because we love this park and its so versatile. There is a huge indoor area, with a playground, running track and even a room with arcade style games. When it’s raining and we’re looking for a free place to bring the kids, this is an easy choice.

A Cup of Joy Eatery & Play Yard
A Cup Of Joy Eatery & Play Yard has quickly become a go-to for my wife on rainy days with the kids. With coffee and snacks available, and an indoor play area for the kids to let off some steam. It’s a lifesaver on the overcast days. Perfect for playdates as well, if you haven’t been to A Cup Of Joy yet, you need to! Your kids will thank you.
